Laura Nugent

Laura Nugent is a painter and illustrator who works from her home studio in the Kansas City area. She received her BFA in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art and furthered her studies at SACI Firenze, Italy and the New School for Social Research in New York. 

Laura’s enchanting work embraces the decorative history of painting. Her whimsical yet simple designs use nature’s patterns and a brilliant color palette. Laura’s love of folk art traditions, from early American quilts to Mexican Retablos, informs her unique aesthetic. Each of her original creations is meant to reflect the joy that art brings to her life and the harmony she wants to share with viewers.
